Family Loss Causes Old Dominion Show Cancellation

Sharing the news Monday morning (March 6th.) the group has said that a loss of an immediate family member has prompted the cancellation of two shows.

The group have canceled their upcoming appearance at the Houston Rodeo, which was scheduled for Wednesday (March 8) , as well as a concert in Midland, Texas, that was supposed to take place on Thursday (March 9). They also canceled a party to celebrate their No. 1 hit, “Song for Another Time,” in Nashville on Monday afternoon.

“Dear fans and friends,
We have sad news to share. We’ve suffered a great loss in the Old Dominion family. One of our immediate family members has unexpectedly passed. We thank you in advance for your prayers and your patience as we sort out the coming days. More details will be shared soon.”

Houston Rodeo President and CEO Joel Cowley said in a statement. “Our hearts go out to the members of Old Dominion. They have lost an immediate family member of the band and respectfully cancelled their appearance to allow time to mourn. We understand and support their decision.”

Tickets for Old Dominion’s shows are available for refund upon request and the Rodeo producers are working to find a replacement artist. Meanwhile, our thoughts and prayers go out to Old Dominion and their families.
